R. Dewaele & J. Steverlinck started out making electronic music at the end of 1998 using the name
Jackhammer. They started out making harsh techno with a humble instrument set-up.
As time passed by, the set-up grew into what it is now. TB-303 all over the place, hard & freaky acid lines
& pumpin's beats...
Bitten by the ACID virus the music started to mutate from noisy techno into ACID music.
With the name SHOCK HAZARD, they decided to join the CHRISTMASS KITCHEN
LAB (an organization consisting DJ's, musicians,.), and started playing at several party's.
A year later they had to change their name to EMETIC for several reasons... The EMETIC sound is
de(a)finitely acid techno with songs pounding between 150-170 BPM not the old school house way, but
rather to be situated between techno and hardcore. From brutal to gloomy, at least trying something
different with the danceable 4/4 rhythm boom. Combining pesky acid bass lines with dark moody synth
sounds, merging with vocal samples and all guided by a considerably hard kick drum.
