THE MAD ACID OVERLORD

Dr.Fernando! is the pseudo of former bass player Ferre Baelen, who after his career with rock band TC Matic found new challenges in dance music. Together with colleague Ro Maron (ex-2 Belgen), Frank De Wulf (under the banner Two Thumbs, a.k.a. Bhab & Cas), Insider (now the side-kick of C.J. Bolland), he rode high on the waves of acid and new beat, recording for various Belgian dance labels such as Subway, MG, R&S, Dance Opera, Important, Music Man and Indisc.

Dr.Fernando! established himself as the king of the TB-303 Bassline.

Dr.Fernando's idiosyncratic "new acid" approach, which consisted of a combination of seething techno patterns, atmospheric sounds and pulsating rhythms.

Intensive touring throughout Europe, New-York (and,recently, Australia) in the wake of these acclaimed releases considerably raised Dr. Fernando!'s profile, insofar that he came to figure in that selective shortlist of dance acts who deliver the goods live as well as on record.
Dr.Fernando's, new material, set for release in the very near future, will prove to be even more eclectic.

Summer 2002, Dr.Fernando, Arkanoid & Gasmask, decide to release all their productions on a label of their own: Binary Bassline Records.
After being THE acid pionier of Belgium, from '89 till '96, and a taking a break untill april '02, it's time to start producing again and to take full control of his own work...
First release is a combined release with Arkanoid, Gasmask and Emetic.

After playing live for the first time since years on the Krank Kartell X6: Bang the Box on April 20th, 2002, Dr.Fernando is back in business.
On Octobre 4th 2002, he played live on the 4th anniversary of Acid Wars, In Münster in Germany.
